Who Do You Follow?

Who Do You Follow?

đŸŽ”Â Bob Dylan once wrote, “You gotta serve somebody.”The truth is: we all follow someone or something—money, ambition, status, or God Himself. The question isn’t if you follow, but who you follow.

When Jesus began His ministry, His invitation was simple: “Follow Me.” People responded for many reasons—miracles, food, inspiration, or curiosity. But the essence of following Him was never just about what you got. It was about becoming a disciple.

So what does that mean today—when culture is increasingly secular, and faith is often viewed with skepticism?

Paul reminds us in Romans 12:2 not to be shaped by the culture around us, but to draw our values from God. Being a disciple isn’t limited to Sundays; it’s about walking with Jesus through everyday life—studies, work, family, leadership, and even the ups and downs of ordinary days.

Edin LÞvÄs a norwgian dpator and writer escribed six marks of a disciple:

  1. A personal relationship with Jesus.

  2. Living daily life with Him.

  3. Becoming more like Him.

  4. Making His interests our own.

  5. Living in fellowship with others.

  6. Simplifying life to make room for discipleship.

Discipleship is not an event—it’s a lifestyle. It’s the practice of surrendering, following, and letting Jesus shape every part of life.

So let me leave you with this question:👉 What would your life look like if you took discipleship to the next level?
